Showcasing RNA-based therapy research for Crohn’s disease: Klara Martinovic Music represents GENEGUT at three conferences
Klara Martinovic Music, a PhD student from University College Cork (UCC), has been actively representing the GENEGUT project at key scientific conferences over the last year, presenting her groundbreaking work on targeting Adrenomedullin in the treatment of ileal Crohn’s Disease.
In December 2024, Klara presented a poster at the College of Medicine and Health Research Conference, with preliminary data on Evaluating Adrenomedullin as a Target of Oral RNA-based Therapy for Ileal Crohn’s Disease. This early research set the stage for a deeper investigation into Adrenomedullin’s role in Crohn’s pathology.
Building on this work, Klara delivered two poster presentations in 2025 at prestigious European event. In May, at the 5th Ghent Gut Inflammation Group Meeting, she presented Evaluating Adrenomedullin as a Target of Oral RNA-based Therapy for Ileal Crohn’s Disease with updates on endothelial cell work. She also shared her findings during the Irish Society for Immunology Annual Meeting 2025 in August.

Klara has also been selected for Moderated poster session at UEG week 2025 under topic Emerging therapies for intestinal inflammation. She is currently preparing the newest updates on biology of Adrenomedullin as therapeutic target for Ileal Crohn’s Disease which will be presented in Berlin in October.
These contributions underline the innovative therapeutic potential being explored within GENEGUT and demonstrate the project’s commitment to disseminating research to the scientific community. Klara’s work, conducted in collaboration with Silvia Melgar and Ken Nally, exemplifies the project’s mission to translate cutting-edge RNA-based science into impactful therapies for inflammatory bowel disease.
