Updates from our partners at CarboHyde: Expanding Innovation in cyclodextrin science

Our partners from CarboHyde enter 2026 with a strong pipeline of initiatives reinforcing its position in cyclodextrin chemistry, advanced drug delivery and translational pharmaceutical development.

Advanced DDS Masterclass
The Advanced DDS Masterclass organised by CarboHyde took place on 3 March 2026 as an online webinar. This edition of the specialised training programme focused on advanced drug delivery systems (DDS) based on cyclodextrins and was designed for professionals seeking deeper technical insights into cyclodextrin-enabled formulation strategies and their translational applications. Moderated by Tamas Sohajda, the XII Cyclodextrin Masterclass featured two concise, high-impact lectures delivered by invited experts, highlighting how advanced cyclodextrin design supports innovative formulation approaches in drug delivery.

Full CMC and Toxicology support in 2026

From 2026 onwards, CarboHyde will offer integrated product development and manufacturing support, including complete CMC packages and toxicology services. This expansion strengthens CarboHyde’s capacity to support partners from early discovery and formulation through regulatory-ready development.

New capability deck: Cyclodextrin expertise

A new presentation deck detailing CarboHyde’s support in cyclodextrin-based products is now available. The deck outlines our activities from initial screening to pilot production.

Ready-to-use cyclodextrin complexes for food supplements

CarboHyde will soon introduce readily available cyclodextrin complexes tailored for food supplement applications, expanding its portfolio into nutraceutical markets. We are focusing on ingredients that have a high price, yet particularly low bioavailability, thus their current use is far from economic.

3-Year Alzheimer’s drug development programme

CarboHyde is launching a three-year R&D programme focused on the development of a novel cyclodextrin-based therapeutic candidate for Alzheimer’s disease. This initiative marks a significant step towards proprietary drug innovation within the company’s core expertise.

We already have substantial animal data and validated results. This Eurostars program will focus on bringing the innovation ready to clinic via scaling, GMP production, non-GLP and GLP animal studies in the coming 3 years in collaboration with the Korean company Renatus and Ajou University.
