In early 2025, Dr Madlen Hubert, an Associate Professor at Uppsala University, presented her GENEGUT-related research at two distinguished events in Sweden, sharing innovative work on the application of 3D human intestinal organoids in drug delivery science.
At the 13th Symposium in Pharmaceutical Profiling in Drug Discovery & Development (23 January 2025, Uppsala University), Dr Hubert delivered an oral presentation on “3D human intestinal organoids: a predictive screening tool for oral drug delivery”. Her talk introduced the organoid model as a promising tool to enhance early-stage screening of oral RNA-based therapeutics.
A second oral presentation followed at the SciLifeLab Symposium on Imaging in Cell and Molecular Biology (18 March 2025), where she discussed “Human intestinal organoids as an advanced 3D model for drug absorption and nanoparticle uptake”. The talk explored advanced imaging and modelling techniques for preclinical drug development using physiologically relevant organoid systems.
